Most of these changes take effect on September 15, 2018, so you’ll still have a few days before the changes.
Marketplace Updates
- Opt into providing your customer service phone number to customers viewing your listing on desktop computers. Find this setting under “Manage communication with buyers”
- Ability to participate in Managed Payments if you received an invitation
- Use HTTPS content to list your items. “New,” “relist,” “sell similar,” and “sell one like this” with non-secure HTTP will not submit properly
- Fee increases:
- Feature fee for Reserve Price increased to the greater of $5 or 7.5%
- Reserve fee cap raised from $100 to $250
- Some Business & Industrial categories will remain at a flat fee of $5
- Feature fee for Subtitle will increase from 50¢ to $1 for listings with 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10-day listings up to $150
- From $1 to $3 for listings more than $150
- For 30-day Good ‘Til Cancelled listings with an item price of more than $150, the feature fee increased to $6
- Feature fee for Value Pack increased from 65¢ to $1.15 for listings with 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10-day listing durations for up to $150
- From $1.30 to $3.15 for items more than $150
- For 30-day Good ‘Til Cancelled listings with items more than $150, the feature fee is increased to $6.50
- Starting October 14, 2018: Insertion fee credits for auction-style listings that sell will be exclusive to US and Canadian Store subscribers with Basic, Premium, Anchor, and Enterprise store subscriptions. Starter and non-Store sellers will not receive these credits
- Final Value Fees for Books, Music, and DVDs & Movies will increase from 9.15% to 12% for Store sellers and 10% to 12% for non-Store sellers
- Records category will remain the same at 9.15% for Store sellers and 10% for non-store sellers
Inventory Optimization
- New categories required for product-based shopping experience
- Starting October 15, 2018: Changes to “New other,” “Open box,” and “Like new” item condition labels and definitions
- Reduction in Final Value Fees in some Business & Industrial categories
- Heavy Equipment
- Commercial Printing Presses
- Food Trucks & Concession Trailers
- Required “Make” for every listing in Heavy Equipment categories
- Include quantities for Wheel listings
Service Metrics & Shipping
- Service metrics and peer benchmarks available in Seller Hub
- Starting October 1, 2018: High rates of “Item Not As Described” (INAD) may increase Final Value Fees by an additional 4% in affected categories
- Starting November, 1, 2018: High rates of “Item Not Received” (INR) may be subject to extended delivery estimates in affected categories
- Sellers will not be evaluated prior to June 1, 2018
- Starting September 10, 2018: Upload tracking in order to appeal INR claims
- New eBay Shipping Labels
